Paddle wheeler helps passengers cruise Niagara River in style

Niagara Belle offers variety of leisurely tours from both sides of Niagara River

NIAGARA-ON-THE-LAKE, ONT (September 19, 2016)– Visitors looking for a unique way to soak up the beauty of the Niagara River can do so from the decks of a New Orleans-style paddle wheeler this fall.

With departures from docks on both sides of the river in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ont. and Lewiston, N.Y., the Niagara Belle takes visitors on leisurely cruises down the Lower Niagara River, through Queenston and Niagara-on-the-Lake, to the mouth of Lake Ontario. The boat can accommodate up to 80 people for seated lunch and dinner cruises and about 140 for cocktail cruises.

Niagara Sunset Cruises, a sister company to Whirlpool Jet Boat Tours, bought the boat in 2013 and gave it a complete overhaul, including more than $1 million in renovations.

Departures from Niagara-on-the-Lake and Lewiston include:

·             Dinner Dance Cruises – Watch the sunset over Lake Ontario on a three-hour cruise that includes a buffet-style dinner prepared by the award winning culinary team, followed by post-dinner dancing. The Belle offers some dance cruises with a DJ and others featuring live performances by a variety of musicians for a truly unique experience.

·             Lunch Cruise – Spend a relaxing afternoon on a two-hour sail of the Niagara River that includes a delicious buffet-style lunch.

Along with public cruises, Niagara Sunset Cruises also offers a selection of special event cruises, including cruises timed to take in the full moon, Persied meteor showers or the Peach Festival. Private and corporate charters can also be booked aboard on the Niagara Belle in Canada and the U.S., which can be booked in advance for events such as birthday parties, banquets, fundraisers, team-building retreats or VIP events.
