Homemade Garlic Croutons Recipe


Add garlic croutons to your favorite soups and salads for a bit of crunch.

Homemade croutons are an excellent addition to fresh soups and salads throughout the year.

Pan frying semidry bread is the best way to achieve a crouton that is crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. You can use bread that has already dried out completely, but it won’t be as chewy inside.

Homemade Garlic Croutons Recipe

Ingredients:

• 6 to 8 slices stale, whole-grain bread, cut into 1-inch cubes
• Several cloves garlic (about half a head), peeled and minced (from Saturday’s prep)
• Olive oil
• Sea salt

Instructions:


1. Preheat a wide skillet over medium-high for a couple minutes. Pour in olive oil until it reaches about 1/4-inch deep. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
2. Add cubed bread one layer deep, turning carefully to coat all sides with oil. (You may have to repeat this process depending on skillet size.)
3. Fry bread about 10 to 15 minutes, continually turning cubes until all sides are golden-brown.
4. Transfer to towel to drain and cool. Sprinkle with salt while hot.

The existing 420-room, five-star Ocean Varadero El Patriarca, featuring four restaurants and eight bars, its known for its front-line beach location on white sand and blue waters, and is surrounded by the Varahicacos Eco Reserve with lush green tropical gardens and the Patriarch cactus, which have been growing in the area for more than 500 years.  This popular resort also features a daily and nightly activities program, theatre, disco, Kid's Club, wedding gazebo, Spa Center and exclusive ‘adults-only’ Privilege Club service and suites, and is located within close proximity to the Plaza America Convention Center, Dolphin Aquarium and Varadero Golf Club.

 Let's cut to the chase, pumpkin pie will continue to reign supreme this Thanksgiving. Nearly two
 in five (37%) American adults have said it's their clear favorite, according to
  Delta Dental Plans Association's 1st Annual Thanksgiving Pie Ranking being released today.

The second and third pies are, putting it mildly, distant: apple pie at 16%
 and pecan at 14%. But more surprisingly, some of the pies that always
seem to get a spot in the Thanksgiving desert line-up may just stand a higher
 chance of joining the rest of the leftovers. Scraping the bottom of the
 favorability barrel are lemon meringue (4%), blueberry (4%) and strawberry (2%).

If you had to choose one, which of the following types of pies would you most want to eat on Thanksgiving?
While the findings hold pretty steady across all age groups, region and even gender can
play a big role in pie preference:
  • More women than men (40% vs. 33%) prefer pumpkin pie, while men
  •  show more of an interest in cherry pie (7% vs. 3%).
  • More than two in five (43%) Westerners and Midwesterners admit
  •  they'd choose pumpkin pie if they had to select one, compared to 
  • 31 percent of their neighbors in other regions.
  • Southerners are three times (18%) as likely to choose sweet potato pie for
  •  Thanksgiving as those in other regions (6%). Northerners are more likely to
  •  choose apple pie than those residing in other areas (25% vs. 14%).
About the survey: The survey was conducted by Kelton Global 
between October 26th and 29th, 2015 among 1,013 
nationally representative Americans 18+. The margin of error is +/-3.1 percent.

and letters to his mother during the Great War, The End will be workshopped and given a private one-night reading at Tarragon Theatre on Remembrance Day. The show is conceived, written and directed by Peter Hinton with music by Leslie Arden, Linda Catlin Smith, Allen Cole, Veda Hille, Alice Ping Yee Ho, Derek Holman, John Millard, David Sereda, Rodney Sharman and David Warrack. It will star Nathan Carroll, and Charlotte Moore.

Yeehaw! Destiny USA Adds Western-Themed Cowboys Saloon: American Bar & Grill to Dining and Entertainment Experience



Destiny USA is proud to announce the addition of Cowboys Saloon to its expansive third-floor lineup of dining and entertainment venues. Owned jointly by BG Capital Group Chairman Bobby Genovese and Cowboys Saloon Founder Anthony Perera, the new 14,000 square foot venue will feature Americana style eats, a large dance floor and ample room for hosting live music from national artists in a rustic western decor setting. The Destiny USA location is slated to open early 2016.
“We’re incredibly excited to add Cowboys Saloon to the Destiny USA dining and entertainment experience,” said Rob Schoeneck, general manager, Destiny USA. “Cowboys Saloon is the perfect venue for families and friends to get together in a fun, classic western-themed environment with the added excitement of live music from big-name artists. Cowboys Saloon will be located on the third-floor Canyon. The space will have capacity for over 200 guests and a concert capacity of close to or exceeding 1,000 guests.

Estonian Kringle - Braided Cinnamon & Sugar Bread


Ingredients are as follows:

3/4 C warm milk
2 Tbsp. butter, melted
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 egg yolk 
1 envelope dry yeast  (1/4 ounce or approximately 2 1/4 teaspoons)
2 1/2 C flour
1/4 tsp. salt

filling: 
6-7 Tbsp. softened butter
cinnamon
sugar
